Merry Fisher 875 Marlin

It was an important class regatta. We needed a photo boat, urgently. On the phone to Don Chow of China Pacific
Marine: “Can we use your Merry Fisher for a harbour shoot, happy to pay for it?” “Sure,” was the reply, “no need to pay, just do us a review in Fragrant Harbour!” Done deal.

So here it is. Jeanneau’s Merry Fisher 875 Marlin, a manoeuvrable and sturdy runabout, under cover. It features all the characteristics of a ‘Crossover of the Sea”, as Jeanneau puts it.

And they’re right. It has this feeling of seriousness, but also playfulness at the same time. A bit like a high-spirited French bulldog — full of beans, always looking for fun, but capable of doing its job and doing it well.

The 875 Marlin enjoys contemporary looks, excellent ergonomic design and versatility. It is available in two versions.

Comfort aboard the Merry Fisher 875 Marlin is good, with plenty of liveable space and a pleasant forward saloon (sleeps three to four people).

Outside, there is a spacious aft cockpit that is entirely modular (open space for fishing) with a cockpit and table / sundeck. The Merry Fisher 875 Marlin has all the necessary safety features, a proven hull that is stable and fast, and single or twin outboards which are nicely recessed so as not to get in the way. Outboards on smallto-medium sized boats are becoming more and more popular and give a fair turn of speed. The 875 Marlin endorses this trend.

The cost is just over HK$1 and China Pacific has a model in stock. Call Don or Phoebe 2358 0023. They'll be happy to tell you more.
