Top of the Gulf Regatta 2019

The 15th Top of the Gulf Regatta will take place 30th April to 5th May, 2019 in the waters of the Gulf of Thailand in Pattaya, headquartered at South East Asia's largest marina, Ocean Marina Yacht Club. Participating keelboats and multihulls are provided free berthing in the marina for the duration of the regatta, giving all sailors and boat owners’ peace of mind and convenience, and allowing everyone to enjoy five days of exciting and competitive racing, together with the popular onshore après regatta scene.

There are a number of changes/ additions to the programme for the 2019 event

Extended racing programme – Racing for all classes has been extended by one day this year, and at no extra cost! The keelboat and ocean multihull classes will race over five days, the dinghy classes over four days and the radio controlled IOM class will compete over three days – see the event programme for more details.

Beach Party – For the keelboat and ocean multihull classes, there will be a beach party on a nearby island (subject to approval), at the end of the third day of racing (Friday 3rd May). All other classes will gather on the lawn at Ocean Marina Yacht Club for their party as usual.

Para Sailing – For the first time, there will be a Para Sailing class at the Top of the Gulf Regatta. Ocean Marina have bought 8 new two-person adaptive S\V14s from FAREAST YACHTS in order to support Para Sailing in Thailand. These are available free of charge for use by Para Sailors at the regatta. Please contact us if you are interested to sail in the Para Sailing class so we can plan accordingly.

There will be upto 16 classes at this year’s Top of the Gulf Regatta ranging from Optimists and Lasers (Radial, Standard and 4.7), 29ers and 49ers, 420s and 470s, and beach catamarans, to ocean multihulls, keelboats, one-design 25-foot Platus, radio controlled IOM class, and the inaugural Para Sailing class. Organisers are considering re-introducing a sports boat class and encourage any interested sailors to contact us with an expression of interest.
Over 200 boats and sailors from more than 20 countries are again expected to compete at the Top of the Gulf Regatta.
